Maersk’s FM3 speeds up

   After only a one-month slow-down, ocean carrier Maersk Line has resumed a six-week round voyage time on its FM3 service between Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
   American Shipper reported Jan 19 that the loop had slowed to seven weeks, with transit times eastbound to Asia from the Indian Subcontinent increasing by about seven days as vessels slow-steamed one extra week between Colombo, Sri Lanka and Xingang.
  
The rotation of the FM3 loop remains Pipavav, Nhava Sheva, Karachi, Colombo, Port Kelang, Singapore, Xingang, Gwangyang, Busan, Ningbo, Nansha, Tanjung Pelepas, Colombo, and Pipavav.
   The service is operated with five Maersk vessels and one from partner CMA CGM with an average capacity of 6,158 TEUs. Maersk subsidiary Safmarine continues to take slots on the FM3. ComPair Data, Ben Meyer
