The Oklahoman port handled 244,311 tons of cargo during the month, accounting for 21 percent of the total cargo shipped through the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.
Tulsa Port of Catoosa accounted for 21 percent of the total 1.1 million tons of cargo shipped through the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in March, the inland river port said.
During the month, a total of 244,311 tons of cargo was shipped through the port, with a portion being steel from Tuloma Stevedoring, Inc. The company operates a general dry cargo dock at the port, focusing on steel handling, as well as heavy lift items and project cargo.
The port’s multi-modal shipping complex and 2,000-acre industrial park lends itself to a significant portion of Oklahoma’s economic sector, providing roughly $300 million annually to the state.
The port frequently deals with bulk freight, including fertilizer, industrial gas, wheat and consumer goods.
