U.S. issues import duties for Indian stainless steel pipe

The U.S. International Trade Commission has determined the domestic industry is harmed by imports of welded stainless steel pressure pipe from India, which Commerce determined is subsidized and sold in the United States at less than fair value.

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has determined the domestic industry is harmed by imports of welded stainless steel pressure pipe from India, which the Commerce Department has determined is subsidized and sold in the United States at less than fair value.
As a result of the ITC’s affirmative determinations, Commerce will now issue antidumping and countervailing duty orders on imports of these products from India.
The petitioners for these investigations include Bristol Metals of Tennessee, Felker Brothers Corp. in Wisconsin, Outokumpu Stainless Pipe of Florida, and Marcegaglia USA Inc. in Pennsylvania.
According to Commerce, in 2015 imports of welded stainless pressure pipe from India were valued at an estimated $33.1 million.
