Starting Nov. 1, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will require carriers, forwarders, customs brokers, and importers to use an electronic manifest system to electronically submit cargo and shipment data directly to the government agency prior to their arrival at any border crossing.
Arcline (2000) Inc. has developed software in conjunction with CrimsonLogic to produce a platform that provides a seamless transition to CBSA’s Advance Commercial Information (ACI) e-Manifest for all its customers. The platform can integrate directly into the ArcFleet Trucking Dispatch Software, which will eliminate the need to manually submit entries. ArcFleet will submit documents to CBSA and let customers know of their receipt as well as any related correspondence from the agency in real time.
CBSA said, “eManifest will require carriers, freight forwarders and importers in all modes of transportation (air, marine, highway and rail) to electronically transmit cargo, conveyance, house bill/supplementary cargo and importer data to the CBSA prior to loading in the marine mode and prior to arrival in the air, rail and highway modes.” eManifest is the third phase of the ACI program.
Arcline is a transportation management software provider for trucking companies and freight brokers, while CrimsonLogic develops government software solutions.
