Carson 3PL partners with Canadian transportation firm Carson-based logistics provider Target Logistic Services and Sameday Right-O-Way, a Canadian transportation firm, said this week they have formed a strategic partnership to move surface and air cargo between the two countries.
To be operated under the name Target Logistics Canada, the partnership will meld the two firms' air and surface cargo organizations.
Target, which has seen rapid expansion, expects 2007 revenue of nearly $200 million. The firm operates 37 Target offices in the United States and has introduced regularly scheduled surface and air transport from any point in the United States to any destination in Canada.
Sameday Right-O-Way, a subsidiary of Canadian trucking firm Day & Ross, is a major player in the Canadian cargo market with 36 offices from the maritime provinces in the east to British Columbia in the west.
Coordinated under Target’s TRACS network, the two firms have completed integration of their EDI systems providing real-time shipment control.
Chris Coppersmith, president and chief executive officer at Target Logistics Services, said shipper interest in the U.S.-Canada service was strong.
“Using our key hub locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Newark, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta, we are offering extensive LTL (less-than-truckload) and trailerload capabilities to transborder customers,” he said.
