Final mile (also called “last mile”) is a term used to refer to the last leg of a delivery route (it is not a mode of transportation). Final mile delivery falls into two categories: light goods (typically less than 150 pounds) and heavy goods.

Wing teams up with FedEx, Walgreen for milestone drone delivery

FedEx Express [NYSE: FDX] on Friday used an unmanned aerial vehicle instead of a truck for last-mile residential deliveries on behalf of pharmacy retailer Walgreens.
