Grimaldi raises its Finnlines share to 50.1%

Italy’s Grimaldi Group has purchased another 1.5 million shares in Finnlines, raising its stake in the Helsinki-listed ferry company to 50.1 percent.

As a result, the Naples-based company was obliged to make an unconditional mandatory offer for the remaining shares which it has set at 17 euros ($22.39) per share.

The latest offer is up on Grimaldi’s original 15.95 euros ($21) per share offer made in October that failed to attract interest and only raised its shareholding in Finnlines by 0.2 percent.
