“Scheduling appointments at facilities is one of the most common activities in trucking, but it is also one of the most fragmented and offline,” said Dan Lewis, co-founder and CEO of Convoy.
Convoy, a digital trucking network, is collaborating with sustainability partners like CHEP to solve industry challenges by eliminating waste, eradicating empty miles and cutting out inefficiencies.
This fireside chat focuses on managing the ups and downs of the trucking market with Convoy’s Dan Lewis.
Convoy is preparing for FreightWaves’ second annual Net-Zero Carbon Summit, taking place Friday, April 22.
The digital freight network has reached a $3.8 billion valuation after raising $160 million in series E funding and $100 in venture debt.
Convoy’s focus on empty miles emphasizes the importance of looking within your transportation network to work toward carbon neutrality.
“There’s a lot of waste in the freight industry, and we believe much of it can be avoided with new approaches to capacity sourcing and shipment automation,” said the senior vice president of USA Truck, which has been helping develop Convoy’s program for the past year.
“You’re not only reducing empty miles to reduce carbon emission waste, but you can also reduce wasted dollars,” said Wong.
Convoy co-founder and CEO Dan Lewis sat down with FreightWaves to discuss the unusual freight market that has dominated 2020 and the future of Convoy.
